A Day out at the Olympic Park 27th May 2015

We were to meet at the sharp end of the Cutty Sark as arranged, but when we arrived with Gavin and Regine no one was there. We found them sleeping rough on a bench nearby the tourist information office.

We set off on the DLR to Stratford and arrived to a beautiful sunny day. A short walk and we were in the Olympic park. Everyone had gathered together and we stopped for a coffee. Roger could not resist the carousel ride and cajoled Jade to go on with him. We walked through the park looking at the events that were going on, the rowing on the canal, the pleasure boat rides and we eventually ended up on the hill in front of the Olympic rings. (I am sure there is a question here for the next quiz?) then we went on to visit the velodrome and sat watching the bikes for a little while. The walk back was pleasant, but some were getting a little tired by the time we got back to the station. DLR back to Greenwich and a late lunch in Wetherspoons. A good day out with nice company
