Our day trip to New Romney

We chose a good day as the sun did shine all day. Everyone arrived on time and we departed at 0915 as planned. We drove through the beautiful countryside of Kent and the journey to get there took an hour and fifteen minutes.

We arrived at New Romney station with 40 minutes to spare before the train departure so we all went for a cup of coffee and some cake in the station cafe. Everyone chose the option to go to Hythe.

The steam train pulled in on time and we all got on board. The journey to Hythe took

about 35 minutes through the beautiful landscape of Romney Marsh. Some of us went to lunch with friends while others did a little shopping.

We all met back at Hythe station for the return train journey at 1430.

We had time to have another coffee in New Romney and for some members to visit the small museum and a model railway display.

The minibus left at 15.45 for the journey back to Crayford.

We had an interesting  demonstration of non stop talking on the journey there and back - why Louisa's partner Richard is so quiet - we realised that it's probably because he can't get a word in edgeways!

All in all in was a very good and successful day.
